Red Orchestra is the most popular mod available for Unreal 2k3/2k4 right now. It does not take a genius to figure out why; RO is strong in all categories that matters to any game. Naturally, the next version, Red Orchestra 3.0: Combined Arms (referred to as either Combined Arms or CA for the rest of this review), has been highly anticipated throughout the mod community. And here it is, ready for you to play.
I'm sure some of the more careful readers out there might noticed that Red Orchestra 3.0 has actually gotten a lower rating than it's predecessor, and that's because here at ModNMod, we've toughened our rating system considerably for various reasons. Even though it has a lower rating, Combined Arms has managed to surpass the standards set by 2.0 and greatly improve on an already solid mod. This is a good game.
Red Orchestra 2.0 beta is released, and once again it is time for you to pick up your arms and heed the call... Is this version better or worse than the one before? Is it up to all the pre-release hype? The answers to all these and other questions, can be found in our review. However while reading, I recommend you find a mirror for RO, as the queues can be annoying, and that's one game you will have to wait to get it.
Red Orchestra is a mod for UT2K3 and what a surprise it’s yet another World War 2 mod, as if we didn’t have enough European war games on our computers along comes one that you absolutely MUST play. Well at least this one is Russian vs. German with the exclusion of the token American/British side.
